As I continue on my photography journey for 2022 I want to do a few blog posts to help all my readers learn a little more about me as a photographer as well as more about the types of sessions I offer. I want to help make sure anyone who is interested in booking a session with me knows what to expect and provide them with information to help choose the best session for them and their family.

First up is my Newborn session offering! I currently offer two types of newborn sessions and I couldn’t be more excited!

The first type of newborn session is a lifestyle session.

A lifestyle session takes place in the client’s home. I will travel up to 20 minutes to the client’s home to capture memories of their newborn. While in your home focus is more on the family interacting with their new addition. Most often we will be in the primary bedroom, living room, or nursery. I will normally ask for the client to send photos of their space ahead of time to help determine where within the house we will have the best lighting for their session as well as get an idea of color scheme based on the theme being used in the nursery. Once we have had a chance to capture images of your new addition with the whole family we will then capture a few posed shots of just baby to show all of their cute little features. Eyes, ears, nose, toes, etc we will capture them all!

The second type of newborn session is a studio session.

I currently have a studio located in a cute little room within my home where the client and their family will come and spend time with me. With a studio session focus will be more on baby in different posed shots with wraps, props, etc. With the use of my professional lighting, we will capture all of the cute little details of their newborn in a few different studio setups. I’ve got bowls, mini beds, and a posing table that we can utilize in conjunction with the wraps and swaddles to get the most out of the session. In addition to the posed shots, we will also take a few family shots to ensure we capture all of the love this new little one has brought to their family.

Both options are 2 hours in length and include some outfits and props provided by me. I have a growing selection of wraps, swaddles, bonnets, and headbands that I LOVE to let my clients use for their sessions! I am always happy though to allow my clients to bring special items of their own if they desire. This helps add another level of personalization to their session!

Bringing a newborn into the world is one of the most amazing miracles. Capturing the first moments of these little ones is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. In most cases, it doesn’t even feel like work. I love to just hang out with my families meeting them and their newest addition and capturing some amazing memories along the way.
